Tonight`s skiflying team competition leaves us speechless. Such an emotional rollercoaster, but with a Norwegian happyend. But first of all let`s start again from scratch. The competition starts like scheduled at 16:15. But due of strong upwinds there have been a lot of breaks. At 17:15 only 9 jumpers have jumped down and so the jury decided to restart the competition, because all competitors should have fair conditions. This decision was from the Norwegian perspective a good one, because Daniel-André Tande as first jumper didn`t very well. Luckily the wind conditions improved immensely and the first round of the team competition started anew at 17:30.

The second first jump of Tande was much better, 226 meters. And then came the high-rider Robert Johansson and he flew, flew and flew. And in the moment you ask yourself: "Where does he still want to go?", Johansson landed safe at 252 meters. A new skiflying world record!! Unbelievable!! And awesome that the new one was set of a Norwegian again, because the old world record of 251,5 meters was held by Anders Fannemel at the same hill in Vikersund in 2015. But who could have guessed that in the first round the record is broken again. This time by the dominator Stefan Kraft from Austria. Incredible that Kraft could put still 1,5 meters on top: 253,5 meters. So Johanssons record held only 33 minutes. Nevertheless that`s fantastic and it`s a new Norwegian skiflying record.

After Roberts record the crowd freaked out and the also the Norwegian team was more than spurred. Johann André Forfang jumped on 220,0 meters and Andreas Stjernen on 227,5 meters. Now it was about the victory, because Norway was in the lead after the first round, ahead of Poland and Austria. But after the disappointing jump from Tande on 185,0 meters you had to tremble a bit. Anyway Johansson stayed cool, although Kraft has broken his record, and jumped on 238,0 meters. After him also Forfang showed that he is a born skiflyer and landed on 234,0 meters. Stjernen as last jumper shown strength of nerve and jumped on 242,0 meters. Therewith he secured the victory for Norway. And the final result stayed exactly like after the first round. Norway with 1572,6 points ahead of Poland with 1538,6 points and Austria with 1465,4 points.
Now you can be excited what Johansson and the other Norwegian Eagles will do in tomorrow`s individual competition, which starts at 14:15 (CET).
