It was a really good qualification for the Norwegian Eagles - except for Daniel-Adré Tande. But thereto later more. As usual at the hills in Norway there are difficult wind conditions which al jumpers have to handle. One can do better than the others.
For a longer time the Norwegians reserved the front places, until the top jumpers of the World Cup came. In this case the standings looked really great. And at the end of the qualification the standings still looking very good, because four Norwegians are under the Top 10:
5. Robert Johansson, 137,5 meters
6. Andreas Stjernen, 135,5 meters
7. Anders Fannemel, 139,0 meters
9. Johann André Forfang, 136,5 meters
As you can see Andreas is the best of the placements, but Anders had the furthest jump. But that's a bit splitting hairs. Also a very good jump has done Joakim Aune, with 129,5 meters he`s on place 23rd. Like in the whole season Tom Hilde remains behind his own abilities. Only place 36th with 124,5 meters.

Now let`s have a closer look at Daniel-André Tande. After the jump of the German Markus Eisenbichler on 140,5 the jury decided to shorten the approach. Then the wind became worse - a strong tailwind. So there were longer breaks and many favourites have struggled like the Austrian Michael Hayböck or the Polish Kamil Stoch. And so unfortunately Daniel-André was a real jinx and landed to early on 112,5 meters. It will probably be a mixture of different factors: Tande isn`t in his best form, he has some very little mistakes in his flight system and despite adverse winds the jury gave him a go. Fortunately he is prequalified, but that`s a harsh backstroke for the Raw Air Tournament standing. Understandably Daniel-André was really upset.
Tomorrow`s competition starts with the trial round at 16:00 and the first round at 17:00 (all times CET).
