Alex Stöckl before the 4 hills Tournament 2015/16
1) Your team was very strong so far, did you expect that they would be so good already at the beginning of the season?
Alex: No, we were rather surprised about those good results, especially with having such au young team.
2) Kenneth Gangnes and Johann André Forfang were already a few times on the podium this season and look quite strong at the moment, so what can we expect of them especially at the Four Hills Tournament?
Alex: Well, I hope they are able to continue on the same level. If they manage that we will have a good tournament.
3) Daniel-André Tande celebrated his first World Cup victory in Klingenthal. How satisfied are you with his transformation of his summer shape into the winter?
Alex: I am more than satisfied. He has always been an athlete who was better in summer but this year he managed the transition much better and it seems that he has become more of an alrounder.
4) A positive surprise for us is Joachim Hauer, who achieved his first WC podium and had some good results with strong jumps so far. What is your impression of him?
Alex: He is an interesting athlete for the future for our team. He has good potensial and his strength is his power. He seems to be focused and very open minded.
5) What can you say about the two returners into the World Cup – Andreas Stjernen and Tom Hilde?
Alex: Both of them made good steps forward this summer. So it looks like our system with the b-team has payed off.
6) Anders Fannemel wasn’t at his full power the last weeks he showed last year and was already two times disqualified this season. What would you see as reasons for that?
Alex: It seems for me that for some athletes the control is more difficult due to the body composition. Anders is a very athletic guy and so his muscles are obviously bigger and variating in thickness along the body. That makes is challenging in a control where the dress has to be positioned at the right spot on the body to be inside regulations.
7) Can we expect to see Rune Velta and Phillip Sjøen back in in the World Cup team later? We will see.
Alex: At the moment they are competing in COC and hopefully they will be good enough to join us during the season.
8) Can you tell us any reasons for the many disqualifications since the season start, especially in Lillehammer?
Alex: That is very difficult to explain, as there are different reasons for those disqualifications.
9) Surprisingly Halvor Egner Granerud is in the team for the Four Hills Tournament instead of Tom Hilde. What was your most convincing argument for this decision?
Alex: He made the qota spot via COC and Tom was unfotunatly not stable enough.
10) Who are your top favorites for the Four Hills Tournament and what are your goals and expectations for your own Team?
Alex: This I won’t answer to keep it more open...
