The first competition of the World Championship in Lahti is done and unfortunately the medals won others, none from the Norwegian team. So first of all Congratulations to Stefan Kraft from Austria for gold (1st round: 99,5 meters, final round: 98,0 meters, total score: 270,8 points). He is world champion for the first time. Silver and bronze go to the Germans Andreas Wellinger (1st round: 96,5 meters, final round: 100,0 meters, total score: 268,7 points) and Markus Eisenbichler (1st round: 95,0 meters, final round: 100,5 meters, total score: 263,6 points).

Well, what to say to our Norwegian Eagles? Best man was again Johann André Forfang. In the trial round he landed on 97,0 meters and in the competition he showed very good jumps on 93,0 meters and 98,5 meters. For a brief moment he was even in the leader box and can book to book for himself a very good 7th place (total score: 253,1 points) at the end. Forfang confirms therewith his good form since the trainings at Lahti has started. This is hoping for the upcoming competitions.

The actual medal favorite Daniel-André Tande has unfortunately disappointed so far. Perhaps he doesn`t like the hill or he puts pressure on himself and tensed because of that. His jumps on 92,5 meters and 94,5 meters were not so bad, however in comparison with the bests his jumps aren`t adequate. Tande can still be satisfied with his 15th place (total score: 243,5 points).

Right behind him have landed his teammates Robert Johansson on place 16th (1st round: 93,5 meters, final round: 94,5 meters, total score: 242,6 points) and Andreas Stjernen on place 17th (1st round: 95,0 meters, final round: 95,0 meters, total score: 241,8 points).

Dead sure is that head coach Alexander Stöckl expected more, but altogether the team results are satisfying. Tomorrow will take place a special competition: the mixed team competition fromthe normal hill (HS 100). Via twitter hopplandslaget has announced that Silje Opseth, Daniel-André Tande, Maren Lundby and Johann André Forgang will start for Norway. The 1st round will start at 16:30 (CET).
