With today`s qualification the world championship has so really started for the skijumpers. The wind conditions were sometimes a bit difficult, but mostly good to handle. And our four guys have shown strong jumps.

Best man was, somewhat surprising, Johann André Forfang with 96,5 meters - means place 8th. Right behind him his teammate Robert Johansson who landed on 93,5 meters. A little bit disappointing was the performance of Andreas Stjernen. His 89 meters meaning in the end place 24th. Last but not least Daniel-André Tande with a very good jump on 94 meters. But he still weaken slightly and isn`t in the form he could be. Like Martin Schmitt, Eurosport expert, said: "There are a few percents missing. He lost a bit of his form, because at the 4Hills he has shown really extraordinary jumps."
Maybe it`s because of the pressure of expectations, which the Norwegian team is exposed to. There are medal expectations in Norway, which the team has to handle. And so you could see the tension in the head coach's face.
Tomorrow`s competition starts at 16:30 (CET) and hopefully the guys will be slightly more relaxed to fight for medals. Even if the power density is really very high at the top.
Finally, an amazing border note: Kamil Stoch from Poland jumped with 103,5 meters a new hill record. He improved the old record (in 2012) of the Slovene Jurij Tepeš by 2.5 meters.
